Mary Ann Barnes

Mary Ann Barnes, 75, of Oneonta, NY passed away on July 21, 2025. She was born November 23, 1949 in The Salvation Army’s Booth Memorial Hospital in Covington, KY to Irvin & Esther Lambeth. She was a graduate of Western Hills High School in Cincinnati in 1967, attended The University of Cincinnati and was commissioned in the Followers of Christ session in 1974. She was married to the love of her life, Bruce Barnes, for over 32 years. She and Bruce were former officers(pastors) of The Salvation Army. She has lived in Oneonta for over 25 years. Mary Ann truly never met a stranger. Anyone that you talk to will tell you that she knew everyone. She absolutely loved to go watch the local sports teams. She would follow the kids on the teams and encourage them after every game. She was always doing for someone else. She loved to visit nursing homes and shut ins. She never wanted anyone to feel alone.

She is survived by her cousins, Linda & Steve Kuhn, Ron & Debi Flowers, Tim & Sherry Wynn, Thelma Laug and their families and countless friends who will miss her immensely.

A celebration of life in her honor will be held this Thursday, September 4th at 11:00 at The Salvation Army in Oneonta.
