Mary A. Hendrickson

She was born June 9, 1935 in Summit, NY the daughter of the late Fird and Polly (Barry) Becker.

Mary graduated from Worcester Central School the Class of 1954.

On July 9, 1954, Mary married Donald H. Hendrickson at the Baptist Parsonage in Charlotteville. Donald predeceased her on April 25, 1994.

Throughout her lifetime, Mary worked various part-time jobs but the one she was most proud of was taking care of her family. She loved the many hours spent with her children and then her grandchildren and even her great grandchildren. She was a wonderful seamstress and made many of her daughter’s clothes. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting and making jewelry. A lover of the outdoors you could often find, Mary outside mowing the lawn, tending to her gardens or shoveling snow in the winter. Mary also loved listening to music and dancing.

Mary is survived by her three daughters, Diane and Michael Houghton of Sprakers, Debbie and Wayne Borthwick of Central Bridge and Dawn and Lawrence Kosier of Summit; seven grandchildren, Emmie, Steven, Jamie, Melissa, Jeffrey, Brian and Kayla; five great grandchildren, Samantha, Brianna, Lincoln, Dalton and Audrina; one brother, Robert (Marie) Becker; two sisters, Ethel Meade and Allie Edwards; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Hauser, Archie and Clarence Becker.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2016 in the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main Street, Oneonta from 11:00am to 1:00pm. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1:00pm with the Reverend Peter D. DeBartolo officiating. Burial will be in the Maryland Cemetery.
