Mary LeoGrande

Born on March 29, 1930 in Oneonta, the daughter of Eugenio and Alessandra (Pallotiolo) Chicorelli, Mary wed Anthony LeoGrande on August 13, 1950 in Oneonta. He predeceased her on October 19, 1982.

A lifelong area resident, Mary attended St. Mary’s School and later graduated from Oneonta High School. A homemaker and business owner, she assisted her husband with their family business, LeoGrande Electric Corp., carrying the company after his passing for a total of 54 years.

Mary was an avid baker and gardener. She grew hundreds of tomatoes from seed every year to make her famous sauce. She loved watching all her grandchildren grow into adulthood.

Mary is survived by her children, John LeoGrande, Sandra M. Welsh (Patrick), Anne Marie Speranzi, and Diane Russo (Frank); her grandchildren, Jacklyn Whispell, Christopher LeoGrande, Patrick Welsh, Anthony Welsh, Alessandra Keogh, Gina Walker, Andrew Speranzi, Michael Speranzi, Frankie Russo, Justin Russo, and Tony Russo; 5 great grandchildren; her sister, Raffaela “Chickie” Chicorelli, with whom she had a very dear and special relationship; her brother, John Chicorelli; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She also leaves behind her 50 year old Amazon Parrot, Tulip.

She was also predeceased by her brothers, Alexander, Joseph, and Anthony Chicorelli; a daughter in law, Claudia LeoGrande; and a son in law, Marc Speranzi.

A graveside service will take place Thursday, July 8, 2021 at 11 am in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Emmons.
