Born, NANCY ANN COOK, on January 6, 1942, in Oneonta, NY, the fourth of eleven children of LaVerne Alberti Cook and Ruth Margaret Cronkite.
She grew up on the family farm on Route 357 in the township of Franklin and attended Franklin Central School and the Aldrich Baptist Church at North Franklin.
In 1957 she married Jack A. Robinson of Oneonta and had one beloved son "Jackie", Jack A. Robinson, Jr., Sgt. US Marine Corp, who predeceased her in 1992.
She resided for many years at her home at 1/2 Harrison Ave., with her husband Joseph F. Beang. They were married in 1982. He predeceased her in 1993. She is survived by two step-sons; Joseph M. Beang and Bruce Beang and a step-daughter; Sandy Gano, and their children, all of Oneonta.
Nancy had been employed for many years at Jamesway Dept. Store, SUNY Oneonta and NYSEG before retiring to Florida with her husband, Herbert R. Bormann also of Oneonta, whom she married in 1987. They lived at River Country Estates, Spring Hill until his death in 2010.
Since that time, she had been a resident at Newport Inn Retirement & Assisted Living, New Port Richey, Florida during her long battle with Alzheimer's.
Nancy was predeceased by her father in 1974 and her mother in 1994. She is survived by her ten siblings and their spouses, Wayne S. Cook, Oneonta; Norville (Duff) and Shirley Cook, McDonough; Melvin R. and Edee Cook, Oneonta; Elton L. and Gail Cook, Franklin; Grover A. and Beverly Cook, Bainbridge; Susan J. Lapine, Franklin; Linda R. Furgason, Unadilla; Jerry D. and Paula Cook, Delanson; Deborah-Jo and Bruce Tarbell, Franklin; Patti L. and Daniel Serrao, Afton. She is also survived by two maternal family elders, an aunt, Doris Cole of Phoenix Mills and cousin, Helen Cyran of Los Angeles, California and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Nancy will be remembered for her beauty, her feisty personality, her love of the outdoors, and her undying love for her son, Jackie. She and Jackie were Harley Davidson enthusiasts and enjoyed riding their motorcycles together. Nancy loved anything fast, furious, shiny and gold. In her own words, "I did it my way" and "what a hell of a ride it has been"!
Graveside services will be held in the spring in the Glenwood Cemetery, Oneonta.
