Nate was born a fighter on April 5, 2005 at Albany Medical Center to Raymond Wamsley, Sr and Alesia Merwin.
Nate attended Stamford and Jefferson schools where he participated in basketball and soccer. He was a member of the Stamford Fire Department as an explorer. Some of Nate’s most treasured moments were riding around with his father in his Gerster's Truck. He was never without a hoodie or a hat. Nate loved working on vehicles and riding 4 wheelers, helping on the farm, his dog Daisy, and hanging with his friends.
Nate is survived by his Uncle Dan and Aunt Shannon Merwin. His mother, Alesia Merwin. His brothers Raymond and Allen Wamsley. His cousins who were more like his siblings, Abigail, Daniel, Ashli, Chasity, Brielle, Dylyn, Danika, Kolten, and Piper. His girlfriend Kylee Casey. Grandparents Betty Wamsley and Daniel and Joyce Merwin. His Uncles and Aunts, Ron (Marisa) Wamsley, Roger (Karen) Wamsley, Missy Wamsley, Michael (Jamie) Merwin, Elaina (Ed) Newell, and many cousins, extended family and close friends.
There are no words which fully thank the wonderful and caring staff of Doctors, Nurses and Staff at Albany Medical Center and Strong Memorial in Rochester. Their support in and out of the hospital meant so much to Nate, he considered them all part of his family. Thanks also to The Make A Wish Foundation for making his dream of redoing his truck a reality, one that his Uncle Dan will ensure is completed, after all Dr. Pearce was promised a ride when it was done.
He was pre-deceased by his father Raymond Wamsley, Sr, and his grandfather Allen Wamsley.
Many thanks to all the organizations and individuals who gave generous donations to Nate during the past 2 years. Your support was invaluable.
