He was born December 5, 1927 in Laurens, New York, the son of the late Olin Sr. and Harriet (Eldred) Waters. On October 7, 1945 Olin married Aulis Harrington in Laurens, New York. Together they celebrated 65+ wonderful years of marriage. Olin served in the United States Army in WWII and was honorably discharged in 1946. He worked at Amphenol in Sidney, New York for thirty-six years until his retirement. As well, he proudly served on the Milford Town Board as a councilman for several years. Olin spent countless years in the woods as an avid hunter. He was also present in many aspects of the community. He was an active member of his church, attended community auctions, and had the honor of being the lineman for the Goodyear Lake Polar Bear Jump. Olin loved woodworking and tinkering in his workshop. He will forever be remembered for his love of country music, dancing, his dedication to family, and his contagious and unforgettable laugh.
Olin is survived by his devoted life partner, Woody Hard of Masonville; three children and their spouses, Kathy and Joe Miller, Linda Martinez, and Jamie and Brenda Waters all of Milford; ten grandchildren, Jennifer and Jim Dutcher, Aaron and Barb Miller, Carmen and Brian Williams, Alicia and Tom Fish, Tony and Michelle Martinez, Jeremiah and Jennifer Waters, Dana and Justin Jones, Wyatt Waters and Mataiah Waters; eleven great grandchildren, Morgan Dutcher and Cameron Dutcher, Anna Miller, Nate Williams and Corey Williams, Parker Fish and Amanda Fish, Kiley Martinez and Lindsay Martinez, Alexis Jones and Brooklyn Jones; five great great grandchildren, Owen Meade and Emerie Meade, Colton Williams, Ava Williams and Gabe Williams; one nephew, Fred Waters of Milford, New York.
He was predeceased by his He was predeceased by his wife, Aulis Waters, brother and sister-in-law, Leon and Evelyn Waters, nephew, Lee Waters, and son-in-law, Joe Martinez.
A graveside service will be held at the Milford Center Cemetery in Milford Center, New York on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 1 p.m. The service will be officiated by neighbor and friend Pastor Steven Fournier. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Milford Fish and Game Club's Youth Shoot and The Goodyear Lake Polar Bear Jump.
