Mrs. Patricia Kathleen Robinson passed away on April 16 just shy of her 89th birthday. She was the wife of the late Edward Anthony Robinson. He was her rock and she was his cushion. They were married for 63 years and very close until the end.
Born April 18, 1927 in Peekskill, New York, she was the daughter of Wilbur and Dorothy Irish. She is survived by her brother Raymond and predeceased by her sister Dorothy Avery and brother James.
She attained degrees from Pfeiffer College and Mercy College. After raising her own family she spent several years teaching and caring for the children of others. Mom was always in high spirits when around young people.
Mrs. Robinson was very proud of the fact she had a big family with seven children, eighteen grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. Nothing made her happier than being around family and celebrating big and small events together. Every holiday was meant to be a joyous occasion.
Patricia enjoyed travel, art, music, gardening, playing cards and was an avid reader. She was a devout Catholic. She was also a long-term member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). Her laugh was boisterous and infectious, her hugs were full of warmth and love and her smile could light up a room. While her last years were spent struggling with Alzheimer’s disease, she still found a way to positively impact the people around her and leave a warm lasting impression.
Patricia is survived by her children Mary married to Jay Champlin (parents of Laura, Lynn and Jay); Edna (mother of Sarah and Max Caraisco; stepmother to Lisa Caraisco), married to Rich Green; Ruth (mother of Chris Weston), married to Dennis Carr; Chris married to Laura (parents of Brian and Jill); Ed (father of Colin and Sydney), engaged to Laurie Laub; and Mike, married to Adrienne (parents of Allyson, Kelly, Julie and Sarah); and predeceased by her daughter Irene (mother of Brennan and Nicole Clifford and Blake Kelch).
The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 21 from 2 PM - 4 PM at the Lester R. Grummons Funeral Home located at 14 Grand Street in Oneonta, NY.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 22 at 10:15 AM in St. Mary's Catholic Church located at 39 Walnut Street in Oneonta with Rev. David Mickiewicz, pastor, officiating.
