She was the daughter of Raymond and Lura (Rappleyea) Foster and was born at Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, New York, on January 9, 1956.
She graduated from Milford Central School in 1974 and from the BOCES LPN program. Patsy first worked at Bassett Hospital and later at The Meadows in Cooperstown. Patsy had a great sense of humor, and as the family nurse, her family frequently relied on her to answer their medical questions.
Eventually, Patsy left nursing and started her own day care, Pitty Pat's Day Care. It became a very rewarding career, as she adored her day care children and loved seeing them years later, grown up and doing well in their lives.
Patsy also could never say no to any animal that became homeless or unwanted. Throughout the years, she adopted donkeys, Elvis the house pig, goats, and rescue dogs and cats, to name just a few.
She is survived by her husband, Alan; her son, Joshua; and her daughter, Ashley (Nate). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Ronnee and Noah; her four sisters, Joanne (Jack), Anita (Robert), Annette, and Leah; one niece, Kimberly (Andy); two great-nephews, Nickolas and Alec; and her sister-in-law, Paula.
Patsy requested that any donations in her memory be made to the Portlandville Pine Grove Cemetery Association, 167 Dorr Edson Road, Oneonta, New York 13820.
