Paul "Goobie" Frederick Carley III

He was born November 26, 1966 in Cooperstown the son of Paul Frederick Carley II and Joan (Miller) Carley.

Goobie graduated from Milford Central School the Class of 1985. Following graduation he entered the US Navy and became a SeaBee. He was honorably discharged in 1989. He then began working for Asplundh and then Altec and most recently for Reese Tree.

He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting, trapping, fishing and doing motocross with his kids. Goobie’s greatest joy in life and his proudest accomplishment was his two children, Tanner and McKenna.

Paul is survived by his mother, Joan Carley of Cooperstown; two children, Tanner Frederick Carley of Oneonta and McKenna Carley of Akron, NY; two sisters, Nicole (Matthew) Lubbers of Davenport and Erica (Richard) Reich of Cooperstown; four nieces and one nephew, Alex, Carly, Justine, Jenna and Isabella; best friend, George (Tracie) Jones of Oneonta; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, February 09, 2015 in the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main Street, Oneonta from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at 1:00 PM in the funeral home. Burial will be held at a later date in the Milford Cemetery. Memorial donations in Paul’s name may be made to either Bassett Cancer Center at FoxCare, 1 FoxCare Drive, Oneonta, New York 13820 or to the Susan Cohan Colon Cancer Foundation, Inc., 201 North Charles Street, Suite 2404, Baltimore, MD 21201.
