A lifelong resident of Oneonta, Paula was born on April 10, 1950, to Paul S. Farmer and Margaret T. (Adams) Farmer. She spent her entire life in the community she loved and proudly called home.
Paula devoted her life to her family and chose to stay at home to raise her children, whom she loved dearly. Over the years, she also provided daycare in her home, caring for many local children and creating a warm and welcoming place for the families she helped. She shared a loving marriage with her husband, Albert “Al” Christman, and the two built a life centered around family, love, and simple joys.
Paula had a lifelong love for animals and always had a beloved dog by her side. She especially enjoyed sweets, including fudge and ice cream, and loved visiting the Fly Creek Cider Mill over the years. Nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Paula was predeceased by her husband, Albert Christman; and her sisters, Deborah and Margaret.
Paula is survived by her sister, Susan Wolfe; her two sons and their spouses, Albert and Michelle Christman, and Dan and Kymberly Christman; her four grandchildren, Angie, Cody, Kyle, and Quinn; and her three step-grandchildren, Britanni, Megan, and Joey. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
