

He was born June 5, 1928 to the late Gertrude Misner Bedford and Raymond R. Bedford in North Harpersfield, NY. He moved to Oneonta from Delhi in 1945.
He was employed at the Delaware & Hudson Railroad from February 19, 1945 until his retirement on June 1, 1988. He was financial secretary for the BRC of A for 25 years.
Philip married Marjorie White on November 5, 1960, in the Methodist Church in Montrose, PA.
His favorite pastime was fly fishing on his favorite rivers in Montana, Wyoming, Alaska and Canada which he did for 40 consecutive years. He was a charter member of the David Brant Chapter of Trout Unlimited and of the Catskill Fly Fishing Center located in Roscoe. He was also inducted into The Bowling Hall of Fame in Oneonta.
Philip is survived by his wife, Marjorie; two daughters, Mary Bedford Ruffino and her husband, Thomas and Linda Bedford Spencer and her husband, Edward; three grandchildren, Amanda Scimeca and her husband, Russ, Mathew Armstrong and his wife, Jen and Barbara Bedford; three great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Evelyn Griffin; three nephews, Steven Walke, James Walke and Timothy Walke; a niece, Tina Walke; as well as several great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Philip W. Bedford and his brother, Raymond Bedford.
