Phyllis Sutherlin, 85, passed away, Saturday, August 29, 2020 in the A.O. Fox Nursing Home with her loving family by her side.
She was born August 12, 1935 in Oneonta, the daughter of the late Cecil and Leona (Smith) Baker. Phyllis married Leo F. Sutherlin on March 30, 1979. Phyllis and Leo moved to South Carolina for almost 20 years before moving back to New York in 1998.
Phyllis worked for Jamesway Department Store for a period of time and was most recently a daycare provider. She was a member of the Salvation Army Church. In her spare time, Phyllis loved to take care of her flowers. Phyllis was an avid Atlanta Braves and Dallas Cowboys fan. She also enjoyed watching NASCAR. Phyllis loved putting together jigsaw puzzles, bingo, and adult coloring books. Phyllis had a great love of family and enjoyed spending time with her children, and all of her grandchildren whenever she could.
She is survived by her 4 daughters 1 son, Kathy Oglesby of Unadilla, Sherry Rous and her husband Gary of Morris, Barbara White and her husband David of Laurens, Nancy Britton and her husband Scott of Pickens, SC, her son, James Morse and his wife Electa of Hartwick. She is also survived by 2 step-daughters, her brother Robert Baker, 2 step-brothers and 2 step-sisters.
Phyllis was predeceased by her husband Leo and by 3 brothers and 2 sisters as well as her 2 grandsons.
A Memorial Service for Phyllis will be held at the convenience of the family at the Salvation Army Church in Oneonta with Captain Davin Bender officiating.
