

Ralph was born in Oneonta on August 15, 1951, a son of the late James B. and Edna (Ross) Sobers.
During his life, Ralph was employed with the City of Oneonta and also worked for the Daily Star for over 17 years. He was a very proud member of the Susquehanna Bass Club for 21 years and was named their Angler of the Year in 1997.
Ralph’s life could be summed up by the following quote, “I’ve gone fishing thousands of times in my life, and I have never once felt unlucky or poorly paid for those hours in the water.” ~ William Tapply
Ralph is survived by his brothers, Charles E. Sobers, Fred R. Sobers, and Francis Perry. He is also survived by several cousins and fantastic friends.
A graveside service will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at the Oneonta Plains Cemetery, Oneida Street, Oneonta. Friends and family are welcome to meet at Noon at the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main Street, Oneonta to join the procession to the cemetery. All are invited to attend and celebrate their love and life memories they shared with Ralph.
