He was born February 23, 1948 in Oneonta the son of Ernest Knapp and Irene (Chamberlain) Knapp Byam.
For several years, Bob was a production chef and then manager at Union College. He then went to work as a line cook for several years at M.I. Bassett Hospital, Cooperstown.
Bob is survived by his sister, Kathleen and Thomas Applin of Buffalo; one niece, Evangeline Applin of Hammondsport; one nephew, Bramwell Applin of Bloomfield, New Jersey; three cousins, Donald Knapp, Albert Knapp and Lori Knapp; and the love of his life his cat, Kit; as well as several other aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his father and step mother, Ernest and Eleanor Knapp and his mother and step father, Irene and Floyd Byam.
At Bob’s request there will be no funeral services at this time.
