Rosa loved her faith and was very active at St. Mary's Catholic Church which was just down the street from her home. She was part of the alter ministry which involved the washing and ironing of all the beautiful linens that graced the alter. She was very committed to this duty and took it most seriously. She was a faithful communicant and was known and loved by many at the parish. Her family knew that if she wasn't at home then she was at church. Rosa was also a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She doted on those that she loved and made sure that everyone was eating. She loved to invite people to her home, especially after rosary on weekday mornings. She was an immigrant from Sicily landing in Ellis Island on December 6, 1956 with her family in tow. She helped to run the family pizzeria business in Brooklyn, NY until they moved to Stamford, NY to run and operate a dairy farm. Her family settled in Oneonta in 1976 where she helped her sons run their pizzeria businesses. Rosa was always cooking and cleaning. She took great pride in her home and maintained it so well. She was also known for her great stamina and strength. She endured many falls and ailments in her lifetime amazingly well. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. May perpetual light shine upon her and may all the souls of the faithfully departed rest in peace. Amen.

I'm sorry to learn of your loss, and I send my condolences to the whole Grigoli family. Especially Rosa, Joe, and Sal who I knew best from school and from sharing the same school bus. Your mom was an amazing woman, and a pillar of faith in her community. I pray the many happy memories you share will help sustain your families during this difficult time. Rest in peace Mrs. Grigoli.

My late father, Ani Colone, and I would visit Sal's a couple of times a week, most often to enjoy their great soups, but more importantly to have an Italian conversation with Rosa. She's would always sit in our booth and would exchange discussion mostly with Ani. She spoke a different Italian dialect than we did, but you know we figured it out. She was wonderful, clearly proud of her heritage and her successful "famiglia!" Blessings to her; peace to her family!
