Rose May Zenner

She was born April 26, 1932 in Richfield Springs the daughter of the late Louis and Martha (Domion) Seamon.

On April 26, 1952 on her 20th birthday, Rose married Joseph Carl Zenner in Richfield Springs. They were married for 50 years until Joe’s death on February 20, 2003.

Rose worked with her husband in the gas station business in Niskayuna for 25 years until they moved to Otego. After moving to Otego, Rose helped Joe run the gas station and also worked as a US postal carrier. Rose was also engaged in various community and social activities in the Otego area. In her leisure time Rose enjoyed hunting and fishing with her husband along with gardening and baking.

Rose is survived by her two children, Carl R. Zenner of Otego and Ruth A. Zenner of Mesa, AZ; four grandchildren, (Joe Yakubek, Sonya Hutchinson, Danny Zenner and Sarah McBeain); five great grandchildren; five brothers; one sister; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 in the Bookhout Funeral Home, 34 River Street, Otego from 2-4 and 6-8pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 10th, 2015 at 11:00am in the funeral home with the Reverend Stephen Fournier officiating. Burial will be held at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Schenectady on Thursday, December 10th. Memorial donations in Rose’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Leatherstocking Region.
