Sandra McLean Layman 63 of Oneonta went to be with her Lord on February 15, 2020 after a short battle with Mesothelioma Cancer. She was born the fourth child of Chub and Elaine McLean of Hartwick on April 29th, 1956.
Throughout her life, she enjoyed having a good time whether it was with her cousins, family or friends.
Other than her children and grandchildren the thing she loved the most was taking care of the elderly after receiving her degree in nursing. She was employed at Eastern Star Nursing Home in Phoenix, AZ, at The Meadows Nursing Home in Cooperstown, NY and Ditmas Park Nursing Home in Brooklyn, NY as well as private duty nursing.
Sandy is survived by her Son, Cory (Ashlee) Layman, Grandchildren, Dylan Dale and Scarlett Renee Layman and her Mother, Elaine Fish McLean. She is also survived by her siblings, Linda (Frank) Wenz, Carol (Buck) Hoover, Martin (Joan) McLean, June (Richard) Dolhun, Tim (Janet) McLean, her Significant Other, John Randall and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her youngest son Donald Mitchell in November 2019 and her father Clyde (Chub) McLean in January 2002.
A Celebration of Life for Sandy, will be Tuesday February 25th, 2020, at the Bookhout Funeral Home, beginning with calling hours from 1:00 to 2:00 PM and the service following with Reverend Barry Davis of the First Baptist Church of Burlington officiating.
Interment will be at The Hartwick Cemetery in the spring.
