Sharon McGrade

She was born October 26, 1936 in Oneonta the daughter of Elwood and Jean Doris (Graves) Hamm.

Sharon grew up in Oneonta graduated from Oneonta High School the Class of 1954.

On May 28, 1978, Sharon married Francis “Mick” McGrade at the Red Door Church. On July 18, 1985,

Sharon and Mick moved to Delhi where they made their home for the last 39 years.

Sharon loved all animals, flowers, doing crafts and in later years adult coloring books. But what she loved most of all was her family and spending time with her loving husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

For many years Sharon had Christian faith at the Southside Wesleyan Church.

Sharon is survived by her loving husband, Mick McGrade; four children, Denny (Kim) Schmidt, Denise (Bret) Hale, Dellene (Len) Carson and Donny Schmidt; five grandchildren, Dan (Kyrstin) Wood, Samaria Schmidt, Curtis Schmidt, Keri Lynn Schmidt and Caprice Schmidt; six great grandchildren, Bella, Javin, Donovan, Calvin, Everly and Kythira; one sister, Linda (Don) Tisencheck; and nieces and nephews, Amy Tisencheck, Rod, Michael and Mary Beth Hamm; and her beloved dog, Kemo. She was predeceased by her parents, Elwood and Jean Hamm; and brother, Dennis Hamm.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025 in the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main Street from 1:00 to 2:30 PM. A celebration of life will immediately follow at 2:30 PM with Rev. Eric Santamont officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Heart of the Catskills Humane Society, 46610 New York 10, Delhi, NY 13753 in loving memory of Sharon D. McGrade.
