

She was born in London, England on October 8, 1927 the daughter of Charles and Grace (Pettengell) Lack.
She was a World War II bride, marrying Staff Sergeant Frederick Wiedeman, USAF, on July 22, 1945.
After settling in the USA, she was a homemaker and raised six children. Sheila was a full time mom and her children were always her top priority. She was multi-talented and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, painting ceramics and her flower gardens. She loved feeding the animals and birds in her backyard and was very fond of all her neighbors.
Sheila was predeceased by her husband, Frederick on November 27, 2001 and son, Corporal Robert A. Wiedeman, USMC, Vietnam, February 25, 1968.
She is survived by sons, Rick (Mary) Weideman, Steven (Pam) Wiedeman, daughters, Susan Pizza, Barb (Bob) Purcell, Janet (Mike) Parent; grandchildren, Shelley, Darrin, Stacey, Doug, Guy, Frances and Stephanie; as well as several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 in the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main Street from 6:00 to 8:00 PM during which time friends are welcome to call. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home with the Rev. Stephen Fournier officiating. Burial will be private in the Glenwood Cemetery, Oneonta.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Sheila’s memory may be made to the local Salvation Army Red Kettle Drive, 25 River Street, Oneonta, New York 13820 or the charity of one’s choice.
