Thomas L. Jones Sr.

Thomas was born on September 8, 1925 in Kearney, New Jersey the son of the late Thomas and Martha (Lee) Jones. He married Dorothy Dykeman on September 22, 1945 and she predeceased him on September 23, 2009.

He worked most of his life as a dairy farmer but during the same period of time he worked at ECD Bendix. He was a member of the Oneonta Masonic Lodge, former member of the Oneonta Eagles, former board member of Agway. He represented local dairy farmers on the Board of Empire Livestock in Oneonta and was formerly the Town of Meredith Assessor.

Thomas is survived by his three children, Thomas L. Jones, Jr. and his wife, Shelly of the State of Indiana, Richard Jones and his wife Chris of Oneonta and Margaret Robinson and her husband, Roy of Otego. He is also survived by his 15 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents, his wife and a son, James Jones.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, May 21, 2012 in the Lester R. Grummons Funeral Home, 14 Grand Street, Oneonta with Rev. David Rockwell, officiating. Interment will follow in the Ouleout Valley Cemetery, Franklin. Friend may call from 1:00 pm until service time at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Patient Activity Fund at Chestnut Park Nursing, 330 Chestnut Street, Oneonta, NY 13820.
