Thomas W. Tolley

He was born June 7, 1943 in Carbondale, PA. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Zelma Champion.

Tom married Carolyn Harriett Germond on January 2, 1965 at the Methodist Church of Sidney (it snowed about 8 inches that day.)

Tom worked for the Oneonta City Schools in the Maintenance Department for 40 years until his retirement in 2008.

He enjoyed bowling and received a trophy for bowling a 277. He was working hard rebuilding his 1960 Plymouth which he was finally able to drive it around town last summer and thoroughly enjoying all the attention it generated.

Tom was a member of the Elm Park United Methodist Church.

Tom is survived by his wife, Carolyn Tolley of Oneonta; son, Thomas Francis Tolley and Althea Levenson of Unadilla; grandchildren, Eric Platt of Franklin, Brianna Tolley of Maryland, Thomas Bryan Tolley of Franklin; son, Timothy Wesley Tolley and Michele Smith of Maryland; grandchildren, Jonathon Tolley of Florida, Courtney Tolley of Florida, Zackary Smith and Torie Couse of Cooperstown, Amanda-Jo Tolley of Maryland and Timothy Michael Tolley and Becky Miller of Oneonta; son, Joel Arthur and Jeanne Tolley of Greene; grandchildren, Joel Jordan Allan Tolley and Kyra Lynne of Otego, McKee Tolley of Greene, Robert Wiswell and Natasha Wiswell-Hodge of Norwich, Cody and Rachel Wiswell of Greene, Trevor and Cheyanne Wiswell of Sidney, Abigail Tolley and Hunter Galley of Otego and Caleb Harrington, currently serving in the US Marines; great grandchildren, Mason Gaynor, Gentry Smith, Timothy Michael Tolley, Jr., Treyson Tolley, Kinsley Galley, Isabella Wiswell, Payton Wiswell-Hodge, Ella Rose Wiswell, Arianna Wiswell-Hodge, Ayden Wiswell-Hodge and Chloe Wiswell. He is also survived by his siblings, Maryann Craig of Minnesota, Bill Tolley of Florida and Jack Tolley of Buffalo; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by siblings, Rick Tolley, Helen (Champion) Mancuso and Janet (Champion) Gallick.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 in the Elm Park United Methodist Church, 401 Chestnut Street, Oneonta from 3:00 to 4:00 PM. Funeral services will immediately follow at 4:00 PM with the Rev. John W. Buddle officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in the Oneonta Plains Cemetery, Oneonta.
