Vernon L. Taylor

Vern was born on October 27, 1919 in Franklin, New York, the son of the late Archie and Mable (Bailey) Taylor. He married Lila L. Wilbur on September 6, 1942. She predeceased him on September 30, 2007.

He was a member of the Community Bible Church in Franklin, the Lazy Hitch-A-Long Camping Club of Sidney, the Franklin Historical Society, the Franklin Senior Citizens and was a former member of the Franklin Grange.

Vern was a farmer and later a shop steward for over 35 years with the EC Bendix Company in Sidney. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved to go camping with Lila and their children and vacationed every year in Florida.

Vern is survived by his children, Lucille Ann Field and her husband, Burnham of Woodbury, Connecticut, Larry Taylor and his wife, Betty of Milton, Florida and Ken Taylor of Franklin.

He is also survived by two grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, four great grandchildren, his sister, Marie Sherman of Masonville and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Wednesday, August 21, 2007 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Kenneth L. Bennett Funeral Home, 425 Main Street, Franklin at which time the family will be in attendance.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Community Bible Church, 25 Center Street, Franklin with the Rev. Walter Schlundt, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in the Ouleout Valley Cemetery in Franklin.
