

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William R. Beams, a cherished father, grandfather, and devoted husband, who left us on January 21, 2025. Bill was a remarkable man whose legacy of love, service, and craftsmanship will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Born on November 13, 1961, in Oneonta, NY. Bill spent his life as a skilled carpenter, known for his meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail. His creations, built with love and dedication, will forever serve as a testament to his talent and hard work. Many can attest to the joy he found in transforming raw materials into beautiful pieces that brought warmth and character to homes.
In addition, through his 20 year service to the Pindars Corners Fire Dept, six of which were dedicated as Fire Chief, Bill exemplified integrity and leadership, earning the respect of his community through his commitment to safety and justice. His passion for helping others extended into his role as an EMT, where he provided compassionate care in moments of crisis. His dedication to service set a standard for those around him, and his impact will be felt for years to come.
Beyond his work, Bill was an avid fisherman, finding peace and happiness in the serene waters. He cherished the moments spent casting his line alongside family and friends, where those fishing trips were not just about the catch; they were about creating lasting memories and bonding with loved ones.
As a family man, Bill’s kindness, wisdom, and unwavering support shaped the lives of those around him. He taught us the importance of love, patience, and hard work; values that will be carried on through generations.
Bill is survived by his high school sweetheart, Christine Beams; their children Jessica Beams (Codey Snow), Jennifer Salvo (Joseph Salvo), and Raymond Beams (Morgan Harnoski); his cherished grandchildren Rylan Snow, Elizabeth Beams, Aveline Beams, Amelia Salvo and Isla Salvo; his siblings Linda MacDougall (John Stage), Debra Balantic (Phil Balantic) and Benjamin Beams (Kathleen Beams); six nieces/nephews and great/great-great nieces/nephews . His unwavering love, strength, and wisdom will forever be a guiding light in their lives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Sally Beams, his brother Brian Beams, nephew Charlie MacDougall, and brother-in-law, Ted MacDougall. Profoundly missed and forever remembered.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 27, 2025 at 12:00pm, followed by a memorial service at 1:00pm at Bookhout Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Pindars Corners Fire Department.
