

Albert W. (Bill) Davies, 84, of Rancho Cucamonga, CA died on May 20th at his home with his wife of seven years, Neva Marie Davies, at his side. He was born on January 19, 1933 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Albert Heber Davies and Genevieve Margaret Collett Davies. At age 17 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served from 1950 to 1953, primarily stationed in San Diego. He was married to Sarah (Sally) Luella Woolsey Davies for 55 years until her passing in 2008 and they had 4 children. He was a partner in Pomona Valley Sewer Company, founded in 1957 and later Rodgers & Davies Company until 1977. In 1977 he formed and owned Albert W. Davies, Inc., a General Engineering Contractor until he retired in 2009, constructing water, sewer and storm drain pipelines for cities and water districts throughout southern California.
Bill has lived in Rancho Cucamonga since 1963 and was committed to his belief of “giving back”. He was a community volunteer as part of the Rancho Cucamonga Chamber of Commerce and a 55 year member of the Cucamonga District Host Lions Club. He was a member of the “Short 4 Club” in the late 1950’s and 60’s, exploring the deserts with other off-road and dune buggy enthusiasts, enjoying Glamis with the “Imperial County Boys”. He built four of his own dune buggys, all “pumpers”. Being a car collector he owned and restored many classic cars and could tell you the history of all of them.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Sarah (Sally) Luella Woolsey Davies, his brother Boyd James Davies and sisters Verona Evans Zandrino and Cleo Mary Hogan.
Bill is survived by his 4 children: Lester Davies (Rebecca), David Davies (Suzan), Paul Davies (Patti), and Kellie Jo Cross, his second wife Neva Marie Davies and her children Charles Gregory Johnson (Sherrie), and Michelle Liana Jenkins (Devon), and his sister June Margaret Elsen (Don) of Blue Jacket, OK. Additionally he is survived by grandchildren Patrick Davies, Kathryn Davies Kelly (Sean), Bill Davies, Crystal Mac Guire Silva (Carlos), Erik Mac Guire (Amanda), Matthew Davies (Crista), Justin Marszalek (Mandy), Ashley Beckering (Brandon), Amy Cross, and Nicole Cross, and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The visitation and funeral service will be held at Draper Mortuary, 811 N. Mountain Avenue, Ontario, California on Wednesday, May 31, 2017. The visitation will be from 9:00 am to 11:00 am followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am. Reception immediately following. Interment will be at a future date at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, California.
