Angelo “Angie” C. Antonelli, passed away March 26, 2018 at the age of 96 in Ontario, California. He was born January 19, 1922 in Norwood, Ma. and has been a resident of Ontario for 61 years. He was the Head Football Coach and an Educator at Breaux Bridge High School in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana and Chaffey High School, Ontario, California. He also was the Human Services Director for the City of Montclair. He was a member of Saint George Parish. He was also a member of the American Legion and Elks Club and was a member and past President of Red Hill County Club. He was an avid golfer. He graduated from Norwood High School in Norwood, Ma. and Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, La. He received his master from Louisiana State University. He was selected to Massachusetts Sports Hall of Fame and in 2008 inducted into the Sportswriters and Southeastern Louisiana University Hall of Fame. He was a World War II Veteran.
Angelo was the loving husband of the late Marguerite Antonelli. He is survived by his sons, Anthony Antonelli and John Antonelli; daughter, Angela Antonelli, grandchildren Stephanie Antonelli, Angelo and Kristin Antonelli and Anthony and Jessica Antonelli, and great-grandchildren, Keili Antonelli, Isabella Antonelli, Gianna Antonelli and Luca Antonelli. He is preceded in death by his Father, Antonio Antonelli, mother, Mary Antonelli, grandson, John Antonelli, brothers, Danny and Joe and sisters, Mary, Carmela, Nicky and Marie.
Visitation will be held at Draper Mortuary in Ontario, California on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 from 6pm - 8pm. Funeral Service will be held at Saint Anthony's Catholic Church, Upland, Ca. on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 10:00 am. Reception to follow at Red Hill Country Club, Rancho Cucamonga, Ca.
