

She was born to Herbert & Valda Neely on August 8th, 1938 in Littlefield, Texas. She was the third of eight children and grew up in southern California. She married the love of her life, Bobby L. Colvin, on May 12th, 1956. They were married 46 years until Bobby went home to be with our Lord on December 24, 2002.
Anita graduated from Chaffey High School in 1955. She received a special award for her shorthand skills. Anita worked as the Senior Pastor’s Secretary at Covina Assembly of God Church in Covina, California for many years. She loved her job and ministry, always giving of her time whenever needed. She also worked at Bank of America in Pasadena, California; Custer Christian Book Store in Covina, California; and a building company owned by her father and his partner. Anita loved spending time with her family; she adored her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved playing games, cooking, sewing, listening to music, reading books, and coloring. One of her greatest joys was singing in the choir at the Covina Assembly of God. Her other great pleasures in life included travel, spending time with her sisters and brothers, and eating dinner out on Friday nights with dear friends.
She was a great mother and wife; always putting her family and others first. She was sweet, soft spoken woman, and a “prayer warrior."
As a child she fell into a ditch and dislocated her shoulder playing hide & seek. Anita and her sister Linda fell out of the car, sliding on wood in the back seat of their parents car. She once sat down on a cactus as a child. She also won a beauty contest as a baby.
Anita is survived by two sons, Gary Colvin of Vancouver, Washington and Terry Colvin (and his wife Marie) of Hesperia, California, and one daughter, Diana Colvin, of Vancouver, Washington. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, Christi Colvin, Carri and Joshua Smith, Courtney Colvin, Chad Colvin, Chase Colvin, Aubrey and Kyle Ohmann, Autumn and Christian Carr. She also had seven great-grandchildren, Joshua Ansnes, Cayden Colvin, Maddie Colvin, Reese Ohmann, Breck Ohmann, Ellie Carr, and Owen Carr.
Anita has two brothers, Tommy Neely (and his wife Norma) of Apple Valley, California, Mark Nelly (and his wife Nancy) of Hesperia, California. She also has four sisters, Jean Killian (and her husband, Bob) of Hemet, California, Linda Wright (and her husband, Lynn) of Madill, Oklahoma, Martha Williams (and her husband, Don) of Madill, Oklahoma, and Pamela Mullinax (and her husband, Dwight) of Hesperia, California. Anita has a sister-in-law, Marlene Colvin, who lives in San Diego, California. Anita has numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Wyvonne Barker (who’s husband, Chuck still resides in Hemet, California).
Visitation will be on Sunday evening, November 13, 2016 from 5:00 until 8:00 pm at Draper Mortuary 811 N. Mountain Avenue, Ontario, California 91762. A graveside service will be on Monday, November 14, 2016 at 9:00 am at Bellevue Memorial Park, 1240 W. G Street, Ontario, California 91762.
Her grandson, Reverend Joshua G. Smith, of La Center, Washington will be officiating her service.
