

Betty was born on Corsicana Texas on June 14, 1930 to Robert and Sally Swilley. She went to school in Corsicana until the family came to California where she completed her education in Los Angeles.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Sally; a brother Robert "RK" Swilley, her son Ronald Allen "Whitey" Van Deventer, and her first husband and father of her children, Vernon K. Van Deventer.
Betty is survived by her beloved husband, William C. Moore of Alta Loma; three daughters, Linda Van Deventer Stokke of Oak Hills, Ca, Cindy Van Deventer Bales of Riverside, Ca, and Janice Van Deventer Stephenson of Ozark, MO, and ten grandchildren and twenty one great grandchildren.
She was a devout Christian and a member of the First Baptist Church in Pomona. She was an active member for many years and enjoyed many of their activities and fellowship.
Betty was retired from The General Electric Company in 2006. She worked at the GE Steam Iron Manufacturing Plant in Ontario, and later at GE Aircraft Engines located in Ontario.
She and Bill enjoyed traveling and many local senior activities. Quick with a joke and a smile, she made friends everywhere she went. With a large family, their home was a place filled with laughter and the sounds of grandchildren.
Services will be held at Draper Mortuary in Ontario on Monday, July 13, 2015 at 11:00am.
