Carlos Eduardo Tejada

Carlos was born on April 26, 1961, in Mexico, to Amalia and Jose Tejada. He carried his roots with quiet pride throughout his life, holding close the people and values that shaped him from the beginning.

Carlos built a working life defined by reliability and skill, earning respect through his work as a mechanic and as a truck driver. He also brought energy and talent to the basketball court, known as an amazing basketball player whose presence could lift the spirit of the game.

He met his spouse in a moment as everyday as it was unforgettable; at the hair salon, where she cut his hair. From that simple beginning grew a life anchored in devotion to home and family.

Carlos found joy in the things that made life feel rich and familiar: double chocolate cake with ice cream, the smooth comfort of “Easy” by the Commodores, and evenings spent with a favorite show, Two and a Half Men. He enjoyed woodworking, and he loved being outdoors and camping. Carlos was drawn to open air, simple routines, and the steady peace of time spent outside.

Above all, Carlos was most proud of his children and family. He was a talented musician, and to many he was more than a relative or friend. He was a steady father figure, someone others could look up to and lean on. With a quick wit and a playful spirit, Carlos loved to make people laugh; his humor often arrived with a well-timed prank, offered not to diminish life’s seriousness, but to lighten it with warmth and connection.

Carlos was preceded in death by mother Amalia Tejada, father Jose Tejada, and sister Patricia Alfaro. He is survived by wife Gricelda Tejada, son Carlos Tejada Jr, daughter Carolina Tejada, and his parrot “Chulo.”
