My mama loved music, she truly had rhythm in her soul. Her favorite music formats extended from mambo, mariachi ranchera, soul, pop, rock n' roll, reggae, salsa, bolero, classical, jazz, standards & more. She adored Rod Stewart to pieces, everytime she heard his songs or seen him on TV. "Oh hey! There is my boyfriend".

Tina Turner, Ella Fitzgerald, Lola Beltrán, Celía Cruz & Linda Ronstadt were some of her favorite female singers.

Music couldn't be just loud it needed to be soul filling. She saw Tina Turner live in Oct 2008 & Vicenté in May 2011.

I remember when Mercedes lived with your family while I lived in Germany. I spoke with Carmen on the phone and I asked her to make my daughter pay rent and clean the house and be responsible. Carmen told me she would make sure she pulled her weight. about a month later I called Carmen to see how things were going and asked her if my daughter was paying rent and Carmen hesitated and fumbled for words but eventually told me that she wasnt paying rent but that she and Lisa were doing chores. I told her that she is such a softy and we both laughed. She was a mom to my daughter while I was in Germany and that was so comforting to me to know that my daughter was in the best care. She is and always will be my daughters second mom. Our family is Grateful to God for allowing us the privilege and honor to know such a loving and beautiful soul.
Forever in our hearts!
