Carmen met her spouse at the All States Picnic and Parade for the 4th of July, a beginning that remained a cherished part of her story. She was deeply proud of her kids and her devotion to family was evident in the care she gave.
Those who knew Carmen will remember the warmth she extended so naturally. She made everyone feel welcome, her sweetness and kindness were matched by a readiness to be helpful. Her calm, thoughtful spirit also found simple joys in everyday pastimes: she enjoyed ready mystery novels, doing puzzles and visiting Hawaii. She was also involved in a walking club, reflecting a commitment to community and connection.
Carmen was preceded in death by her sons, James and Mark Ishikawa. She is survived by her children Diana Catuara, Dorothy Gallagher, Donald Ishikawa and Stewart Ishikawa.
