Catherine Hacker Lewis

We lovingly remember and celebrate the life of Catherine Hacker Lewis, who entered into eternal rest on June 21, 2026, at the age of 85.

Born Catherine Elizabeth Hacker in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on July 28, 1940, Cathey grew up alongside her older brother, Charles "Chuck" Hacker. She attended Wilmington College before beginning a life defined by family, hard work, and compassion.

In October 1960, she married Jerry Lee Lewis. Together they raised three sons in Lebanon, Ohio, before moving to Southern California in 1969. There, Cathey spent the next five decades building a home, nurturing lifelong friendships, and becoming known for her generous heart.

She took tremendous pride in her career with Avon, where she worked for 31 years before retiring. She loved her work, valued the friendships she made, and appreciated the opportunity to help others through her career.

Helping others wasn't something she occasionally did, it was simply who she was. Whether giving someone a ride, helping in the kitchen, lending a hand to a neighbor, sharing homemade treats, or simply making everyone feel welcome, Cathey found genuine joy in caring for others.

She also had a deep love for animals and adored the many dogs she welcomed into her life, especially her beloved Precious, who brought her constant companionship and happiness in her later years.

Above all else, Cathey will be remembered for the kindness she showed to everyone she met. She had a remarkable gift for making people feel cared for. Her gentle spirit, selfless heart, and unwavering love touched countless lives. She never sought recognition for the kindness she showed others; helping people was simply second nature to her.

Cathey was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry Lee Lewis; her cherished son, Patrick Lewis; her loving parents, Margaret Muir Hacker and Charles M. Hacker; and her dear brother, Charles "Chuck" Hacker.

She is lovingly remembered by her sons, Jerry Lewis Jr. and Charles "Chuck" Lewis; her granddaughters, Jennifer Blott and Cherie Lewis; great-granddaughter Caitlyn Ripani; and extended family members and dear friends whose lives were forever enriched by her love.

The best way to honor Cathey's memory is through simple acts of kindness. Help someone in need. Bake something for a neighbor. Offer a ride. Lend a hand. In doing so, her love and generosity will continue to live on.
