Born on November 17, 1946, in Montebello, California, to Celestina Machado and Joe Sousa Machado, Daniel grew up to become a devoted family man whose greatest joys in life were the people he loved.
Daniel attended Chaffey High School, graduating in 1965. It was there that he met his high-school sweetheart, Barbra Machado, the woman who would become his wife and lifelong partner. They married in 1965 and shared 53 years of marriage before Barbra’s passing in 2018. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised a family filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. In 2026, they would have celebrated 61 years of marriage, a testament to the lasting bond and life they shared.
Throughout his career, Daniel worked in the motion-picture industry at Technicolor, where he helped bring color and life to movies enjoyed by generations. His work was part of the magic behind the scenes, helping bring stories to life on the big screen.
But beyond his career, Daniel will be remembered most for the kind of person he was. He had a special way of making people laugh, brightening a room, and putting smiles on the faces of everyone around him. He loved telling jokes, sharing laughter, and never missed an opportunity to make someone smile. His sense of humor was one of the many things that made him unforgettable. Whether it was a perfectly timed joke, a silly punchline, or simply his way of making people feel good, Daniel knew how to turn an ordinary moment into a special memory.
Above all, Daniel loved his family. He was the kind of man who would do anything for anyone, always willing to lend a hand, offer support, or bring a little happiness into someone’s day. His generosity, kindness, humor, and unconditional love were just a few of the things that made him so special.
Daniel leaves behind his four daughters: Kimberly Machado, Stacy Stemple, Dana Machado, and Shelly Martorana; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry his love, lessons, and memories with them for generations to come.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbra Machado, who passed away in 2018, as well as Marylou Jacques and Joe Machado.
Though our hearts are broken by his passing, we find comfort in knowing that his legacy lives on through the family he built, the lives he touched, every smile he brought, and every joke he told.
Those who knew Daniel will forever remember his laughter, his quick wit, his big heart, and the way he could make anyone feel welcome. He taught us that some of life’s greatest gifts aren’t things we can hold, but the laughter we share, the people we love, and the memories we leave behind.
