Don Cataldo was one of my teachers back in the early 1990s.  He was an excellent teacher.   Im sorry im just now hearing the loss.  He was a very patient and caring teacher,  more so then others ive had.  He actually tried to help.  And he had a sence of humor.   Well, my name is anthony,  and Im 47 years old now.   How time flys.........................farewell,  old friend.

Unbelievable my heart goes out for him and his family . Dr cataldo my fully best teacher I’ve had, his jokes his New York accent and how he knew every word in the dictionary , I’m overwhelmed just seen this news , miss you cataldo and our dodgers talk everyday in classroom after my work was done and btw we won !!! World Series champions!!!2020 love you 

Don will be forever in our hearts and memories. I am most grateful for our reunion 6 summers ago when John and I were in CA and we all met for dinner which we never ate because we were too busy laughing, hugging, and reminiscing  over our wonderful childhood family  memories. Donny was gifted with the ability to make everyone around him feel loved and special. We have all lost an unbelievably beautiful human being and our loss is great. I pray that all our special times together and his precious family who will carry out his legacy will fill the void and give us strength in the difficult days and weeks ahead. May God hold you always in the palm of His hand . Love you always my sweet cousin

To the Cataldo family, I am so sorry for your loss. Don always saw the funny side to any situation and it was a pleasure to work with him at Montclair High School. He gave so much to his students and made learning fun. He had several students that  continued their education in media production because he could make a career fun, not just work. Don loved life and lived it fully, giving of himself was his gift to the world. He will be missed!

Don was just a lot of fun to be around.  He always had a smile, a laugh, a joke, and a way of looking at any situation that brought out the lighter side.  He made teaching at Montclair High more enjoyable.

Judy, David, Sharon, Marty, Larry, Mike, Matthew, Andrea, and to all generations that continue the legacy of your family,
   I want to express sincere wishes of warmth to you all.
 People like Don touch and influence many lives, not just immediate and nuclear family, but all those he came in contact with, and through his innate quality of empathy, helped in many ways.
 A person like Don has an impact on many. The analogy I think of is like when a boulder is dropped in a lake. To those nearest him, they feel it the most, yet his impact and who he is ripples outward, and effects the entire lake. I am positive people he helped and welcomed into his home, and to those he taught as students, and to those closest to him that he loved and nurtured, take what they felt and learned from Don, and keep what was truly him as a spiritual being, and spread that outward. 
 We really learn that an individuals' impact on people in society, is the real measure of a life.
 I learned of "Donny" through my older brother John. John was in a rock band with one of Dons' younger brothers Larry. Don was already a college graduate, and starting his life, and so to young high school kids still trying to figure out what and who we were, exploits of Donny were like legend. When I finally met Don, the first thing that struck me was his sense of humor. The second was his generosity. The only other person I have met that embodied those two qualities in that amount was my own father. It is why I liked Don so much. Always helpful, always generous, and always there with humor, and an open invitation is you should need anything.
 It is hard to entertain the word celebration when we miss someone so much, but the qualities of who Don was live on in all he touched and befriended, and that is how the 'spirit" of an individual lives on. I miss him, but I will always smile when I think about him. We are all richer for knowing him.

My deepest condolences to Don's beloved family. He was a fellow educator associate of mine since teaching together at La Salle HS in 1978 and together in the Chaffey District. At dheis De go raibh a n-anam as we say in Irish. May his soul be stvthecright hand of God.
