Well Mom I finally found her Daniella Dean Scott's daughter I spoke with her yesterday and wow what a beautiful young girl she is and a beautiful daughter she has Lily would have been your great granddaughter I know you would have gobbled them up with so much love that you gave all of us but I hope you know Scotty's up there with you and I hope he rest in peace with you Jimmy and Ricky even though we missed him most of our life . Around last October, I had a dream about my childhood and home, and in my dream was grandma wrapping plastic wrap over a bowl of pasta with a meatball. She placed it in my hands, said "Now go over but don't stay too long," and I started walking to your house. But because it was a dream, the walk was so long and I got really lost, so I came home and said to my grandma, "I don't know where she is, I can't find her!" Grandma said, "That's okay, I know where she is, let me go and you do the dishes." I had a terrible feeling, and decided to google since I got a new phone and lost Jeannie's phone number. I found the obituary and started to cry. Last year was very hard. We lost grandpa and had to sell their home. Before the dust could settle, we lost another and our last surviving grandparent and had to do it all over again. So many missing pieces now that all of our elders have passed on. But I have so many memories of Jeannie, where do I start? Grandma always wanted to feed you and make sure you ate, and I was always so happy to bring you a "care package" and sit awhile. Somehow I ended up getting a great deal of musical education in the time at your house! I'd sit on the floor and we'd listen to music on your stereo, switching between Celine Dion, Shania Twain, Toni Braxton, Frank Sinatra (of course, your Frankie!), Yanni, KD Lang... The list goes on. If a voice or a song moved you, you'd listen to it and love it. We'd watch specials on PBS that you'd recorded, we'd talk about Saturday Night Live and all my favorite Molly Shannon characters and I'd do all the impressions for you, and you'd tell me about your family. You loved your children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren so much. You loved showing off their pictures and could go on and on about how wonderful they were. That's something that you were and will always be to me. Unconditionally loving. I loved spending time with you, I loved cleaning your kitchen after you'd send me around the corner to get us McDonald's Big Macs for lunch. I'm so grateful that I got the chance to spend so many entire days with you. You were a generous and warm presence, to me and both of my grandparents. My grandma adored you and you were more than a good friend. And I'm eternally grateful for how kind and open you were. You were the first adult that I ever came out to, and it still means so much to me that it never changed how you treated me. "So! You're still a beautiful girl and I love you!" I'm so sorry I wasn't there to celebrate your life with your family, but I think of you all the time. I had my own grandma, but you know that she was more like mom. You were my grandma across the street, my Rose from the Golden Girls, the lady who snuck me my first makeup at age 12 (an extra that you ordered from QVC of course), and my favorite Gemini ding-a-ling who had to buy two of everything. You will always be so special to me and I love you always.
