

Duane was born to Albertine Simone Grandbois and Leon David Tessier in Fargo, North Dakota. He attended grade school at Saint Mary's Cathedral School and completed his high school education at Sacred Heart Academy, both located in Fargo. After serving in the military, he attended North Dakota State University.
He served honorably in the United States Air Force, entering on December 5, 1950, and receiving an honorable discharge on September 24, 1954. Duane completed his basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas and received radar training at Keesler Air Force Base in Mississippi. He was assigned to the 661 AC&W Squadron at Selfridge Air Force Base in Michigan until his discharge.
In May 1956, Duane moved to Southern California and began his career at General Telephone on May 24, 1956. He was initially assigned to the La Puente Central Office as an equipment maintainer (switchman) and was promoted to supervisor in July 1966. Throughout his career, he held various supervisory positions in training, central office construction, and as an Eastern Area Staff Analyst, eventually retiring as a Senior Network Analyst. At the age of 57, Duane was hired as a Telephone Tech Specialist at Northrop B2 Division in Pico Rivera, where he continued his employment until February of 1993.
Family and friends knew Duane as the best husband and father ever. He had a passion for classic and pop music, enjoyed watching sports, and loved going to the beach. Duane was a talented musician and had a deep knowledge of history. He was also actively involved in his community as a member of the Elks Club and the Foresters.
He married Roseann M. Figlioli in 1958 and were married 53 years. They together had three children Pamela Tessiér, David Tessiér and Michelle Williams. Roseann preceded him in death in 2021 and David in 2019. He has two grandchildren Brittney Williams and Lauren Cousins.
Duane's life was marked by his dedication to his family, his country, and his community. He will be remembered for his many contributions and the love he shared with those around him.
