Eileen was born on September 20, 1935, in California, to parents Emma and Patricio Olegario. Throughout her life, she was cherished by those who knew her for her faithful heart, and honesty that never wavered.
Eileen worked as a noon-aid at a school, a role that suited her attentive nature and commitment to helping children feel safe and supported during the day. Eileen met her spouse at a restaurant in Los Angeles, the beginning of a life built on love and enduring partnership. It was a love story that spanned 70 years, built on faith, devotion, and a lifetime of shared memories. She took deep pride in her Christian beliefs, and her faith remained a guiding presence in her life. Her favorite book was the bible, and she could often be found listening to Christian music.
Eileen found joy in simple, meaningful pleasures: she especially enjoyed foods with shrimp, and she loved camping, a hobby that connected her with others through her involvement in a camping club. She delighted in travel and cherished visits to the beaches of Hawaii, as well as traveling to the holy land; places that spoke to her sense of wonder and devotion.
Those who knew Eileen will remember her familiar words, “be nice,” a simple phrase that reflected the values she lived by. She carried herself with sincerity and grace, and those closest to her knew they could rely on her straightforward truth and her constant encouragement. Her legacy will be carried forward in the lives she touched and the family she loved.
In her passing, Eileen is rejoined with her father, Patricio; her mother, Emma; her sister, Juliet; her sister, Ruth; and her brother, William. She is survived by her husband, Thomas; her son, Michael; her daughter, Elizabeth; her son, Mark; and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
