I met Ernie shortly after my family moved to Monrovia and I started school there. Ernie was already out of high school, but I met him through his cousin Ray. Judy was one if my first friends at Monrovia, and she introduced me to her sister Pat. We decided to set Ernie up with Pat, and so our lifelong friendship began. Ernie and I had a lot if good times running around, but we soon had to start paying attention to our growing families. Judy and I moved away twice, but we stayed close by telephone and short visits. After getting our children raised and dealing with some health issues, we decided to travel the country as much as possible. Each of our longer trips, including one to Ernies home town of Saugus, included a stopover in Ohio for Amish food, creme sticks at the local bakery, and Baby Swiss and Trail Bologna sandwiches. So mych fun, so many fond memories-
Ernie was as good a friend as we could have, and we really miss him.

My Brother Ernie
I will forever fondly remember you as a loving, thoughtful and extremely patient brother who always put the needs of others in front of your own needs.  You frequently opened your house to others regardless of the sacrifice you made concerning your own privacy.  My hat is off to you.
Thinking over the years there are a few memories that stick out in my mind.  Some may seem silly but they are impeded in the soft stuff.  I remember three distinct instances while we lived back in Saugus.  The first being how I used to lay on the front floor, under the dash of your 1951 Mercury and operate the windshield wipers so you could see while driving in the rain.  The second was when Dr. Clark extracted my perfectly good tonsils at the same time you had yours out because our Dad got half off if he did both at the same time.  I also remember you jumping off the front porch roof of our Kent Street house only to sink your front teeth into the top of my head.  All good memories.  Moving on to California, I enjoyed the times we spent together building my 1936 Ford pickup.  You taught me a lot during those times.  Believe it or not, I also learned a lot during our weekly pool sessions with Uncle Ray.  I think one of the most intensive memories is when we returned from the Philippines and you held Christmas for us in the middle of summer.
You have been one of the rocks in my life and I will be forever grateful for your mentorship. You have been a great brother and I have always been proud of you.  You will be severely missed.  RIP sir, your brother Dennis
