Erwin Edward Scharping

Erwin Scharping, 89, of Ontario left this earth to be with our Father on June 28, 2018 at his home. He was born on March 13, 1929 in Cuba, Illinois and lived in Southern California for 74 years. He worked in the aerospace industry for 30 years and was a member of the First United Reformed Church of Chino. Erwin enjoyed being outdoors, hiking, and fishing. He loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by Earlene, his loving wife of 66 years, and his daughter Jeanette Haring (and her husband, Rob); his three grandchildren, Aaron (and his wife, Caroline), Amy (and her husband, Chad), and Andrew (and his wife Katie). Erwin also has 10 great-grandchildren.

Erwin is preceded in death by his parents, Erwin and Catherine Scharping, his daughter, Kathy, and his brother, William.

A Visitation will be held at Draper Mortuary, 811 N. Mountain Avenue, Ontario, CA on Saturday, July 7, 2018 from 5:00-8:00 PM. A Graveside Service will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 4471 Lincoln Avenue, Cypress, CA on Monday, July 9, 2018 at 1:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
