Frances built a successful career as a high school proctor, a role that reflected her care and concern for others. She was devoted to her family and took deep pride in the life she and her husband, Joseph P. Pertusati, built together, especially in their three boys, their grandchildren, and the generations that followed.
Frances met her future husband, Joe, when he worked on her father’s farm, a beginning that grew into a loving marriage and a home filled with family gatherings that were always based around a home cooked meal. Frances brought warmth and laughter to the people around her, offering honest and light hearted words of comfort. She had a fun and feisty sense of humor and a warm and loving heart.
Frances found joy in gathering family around holiday meals, especially roast and pasta, where conversation and tradition were as important as the food itself. She also enjoyed fishing, treasured trips to Newport Beach and Silver Lake Resort, and took particular pleasure in watching Tom Selleck shows. Music was a constant companion as well, with favorites that included Frank Sinatra and Neil Diamond. More often than not an Italian artist was playing quietly over the speakers in their home while Frances and Joe cooked in the kitchen.
Frances was active in the ICF (Italian Catholic Federation) and the Our Lady of Lourdes Altar Society, communities where her faith, heritage, and dedication to others found meaningful expression.
She was preceded in death by her father, Sante Grossi; her mother, Eugenia Grossi; her husband, Joseph P. Pertusati; her sons, Joseph L. Pertusati and Mark S. Pertusati; her sisters, Vera Ferraro, Olga Traverso, and Ines Nelson; and her brothers, Jim Grossi and Frank Grossi.
She is survived by her son, Dennis K. Pertusati; her daughter-in-law, Diana Pertusati; her grandchildren, Vince Pertusati, Amanda Pertusati, Danny Pertusati, Joey Pertusati, Elise Pertusati, and Michael Pertusati; and her great-grandchildren, Thayer Pertusati, Rome Pertusati, and Milo Pertusati.
Frances leaves behind many who will forever cherish the laughter, joy, and love she brought into their lives, but we can only imagine how happy she must be now to be reunited once again with her beloved husband and sons sharing in a wonderful family reunion.
