Gene served in the Air Force and later in the Fire Department, living a life marked by duty, steady commitment, and a hands-on willingness to do what needed to be done. In every season, he brought a practical creativity to the work before him, meeting challenges with resourcefulness and good humor.
A lover of classic cars and remodeling, Gene was known for a special talent that never ceased to impress: he could fix anything. He also loved Washington State, and he found comfort and enjoyment in country music—simple pleasures that reflected a life grounded in what was genuine and lasting.
Above all, Gene valued family, time, and laughter. He took his greatest pride in his daughter, Kristen, and his grandson, Andrew, and those closest to him will remember the warmth he brought to ordinary moments, and the way he could lighten a room with a well-timed laugh.
Gene was preceded in death by his mother, Haldis (Larson) Bell; his father, Maurice Bell; and his brother Maurice Leroy Bell.
He is survived by his daughter, Kristen Marie Bell Lopez; his grandson, Andrew Michael Lopez; his son-in-law, Anthony Lopez; his brothers, Richard and Steven Bell; and his former wife, Helen Bell.
