

Gordon David Roberts (age 74) was born October 29, 1941 in Glendale, CA to David and Margaret Roberts. A third generation Californian he graduated from Herbert Hoover High School in 1959. After marrying in 1965 he moved to Cucamonga. Gordon worked for WEB Service Company for more than 40 years. He worked as Appliance Serviceman, Supervisor, and Loss Prevention Specialist. Gordon was a lover of trains and an avid model railroader. He so loved trains he built a room to work on his models. He was ready to apply for master builder through the NMRA. Gordon belonged to the Orange County Module Railroad group and attended train shows all over the Southland. He especially enjoyed sharing his love of trains with others. Gordon was a life member of the NMRA as well as a member of the California State Railroad Museum in Sacramento. He also belonged to the Hawaiian Railway Society for a few years when his job took him to Hawaii. Gordon rode trains on four different continents. He loved to travel by land, air and sea.
Gordon is survived by his wife of 50 years, Diane Roberts, his daughters, Pamela Roberts and Cynthia Roberts, and his Shelties, Buddy and Tommy. He is also survived by his sister Midge Schuyler (John), his brothers, Tom Roberts and John Roberts (Gilda), brothers in-law, Clyde Acord (Charlotte) and Ralph Acord (Linda) and sister in law Victoria Acord, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Leslie Macias and brother in-law Michael Acord.
A Memorial Service will be held at Draper Mortuary, 811 N. Mountain Avenue, Ontario, California 91762 on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 11:00 am.
