

Harvey A. Stephens, Jr., of Desert Hot Springs, California passed away after an unexpected illness on March 5, 2016 at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, California. He was born on June 11, 1936 in Latrobe, Pennsylvania to Harvey A. Stephens, Sr., and Eleanor Brown Stephens.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara E. Stephens, two children, Chris L. Stephens ( and spouse, Carla) of Rancho Cucamonga, California and Kimberly A. Martinez (and spouse, Yvette) of Desert Hot Springs. He was also blessed with 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers and two sisters as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Preceding him in death were his parents, a daughter, Cathy Lynn Dupard and two brothers.
Harvey and Barbara moved to California in 1960 settling in the Inland Empire. He worked as a machinist for many years before becoming an agent for Prudential Insurance Company for the last 20 years qualifying for numerous awards.
Harvey was very active in the Westminster Presbyterian Church and Upland Presbyterian Church as well as the past Master of the Ontario Masonic Lodge #301 and Job's Daughters. Upon retirement, Harvey and Barbara moved to Desert Hot Springs, California where he was an active member and elder in the Palm Springs Presbyterian Church.
Harvey enjoyed hunting, restoring 1936 Chevy's and gave many hours to the PSPC. Harvey enjoyed lots of time with his family. Harvey and Barbara also loved raising the great-granddaughter, Sabella.
Funeral Service will be held at Draper Mortuary, 811 N. Mountain Avenue, Ontario, California 91762.
