

Hugh was born on June 4, 1930, in Oklahoma and spent his early years in the Canute area. He was the son of Press Combs and Lilly May Babcock Combs Kenny. Throughout his life, Hugh was known for his quiet strength, independence, and unwavering work ethic, living simply and with purpose.
He worked as a skilled carpenter and roofer, dedicating himself to his craft before retiring in his 30s. Hugh also proudly served his country in the United States Army.
Hugh shared many years of marriage with his beloved wife, Towana Coker Combs, who preceded him in death. Their life together was a meaningful part of his journey.
Hugh is survived by his brother, Stanley Combs of Fontana, California, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He shared a particularly close and special bond with his niece, Debra Thompson.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Towana Coker Combs; his parents, Press Combs and Lilly May Babcock Combs Kenny; and his siblings, Lucille Haines, Marion Roether, Leslie (Bud) Combs, Eva Nell Peaslee, Virginia Vermillion, and Bonnie Munford.
Hugh will be laid to rest in a crypt beside his wife. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no funeral service
