

Ida Frisby Lyman passed away on September 2, 2015 in Etiwanda, California. She was born on May 13, 1915 at home on Wharton Creek near Huntsville, Arkansas to Grover Cleveland Frisby and Eta (Yingst) Frisby. Ida grew up on a farm with one sister and two brothers and then married Reuben Lyman in 1932. They lived near Huntsville, Arkansas and farmed until World War II came along. The Selective Service Board had Reuben and Ida move to Washington State to help with the apple harvest in 1944 and then move to Long Beach, California to work in the shipyards. After the shipyards closed, Reuben worked for General Dynamics in Pomona, California as a welder. Ida was a homemaker, worked part time at the lemon packing house, and took care of grandchildren. During this time they lived in Ontario, California. When Reuben retired, they moved to Etiwanda. Ida raised birds for a hunting club for many years and Reuben raised English Pointer hunting dogs and Tennessee Waking horses. Reuben passed away in 1984. Ida is survived by a son, Doyle (and his wife, Shawna) Lyman, and a daughter, Erma (and her husband, Gary) Williams. She is also survived by five grandsons, eleven great-grandchildren and eleven great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Draper Mortuary, 811 N. Mountain Avenue in Ontario, California from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, September 8, 2015. Funeral Service will be at Draper Mortuary at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 9, 2015. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to the American Diabetes Society, the American Cancer Society, or the Salvation Army.
