Irene Cecile Schneider, 92, of Rancho Cucamonga, California, entered into rest on March 10, 2026. Born August 3, 1933, in Massachusetts to Hermas and Emelia Quenneville. Irene was devoted, beloved, and kind-hearted throughout her life.
Irene married Gordon Schneider after they met while she was working at a soda shop while she waited on him. Their marriage spanned 58 beautiful years. Together they built a family and shared the joys of raising five children and welcoming five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Those who knew Irene will remember her many interests and the simple pleasures she cherished. She enjoyed sewing, family get togethers, and her love of Bermuda. She was known for having a very good memory and for the way she could recall moments and details that helped keep family stories alive.
In her community, Irene served as an ambassador at her living facility, a role that reflected her welcoming spirit and her thoughtful attention to others.
Irene especially loved the holidays, particularly Christmas, and she brought that season’s warmth into the lives around her. Her favorite quote, “Been there, done that,” captured her practical humor and the quiet confidence of a life fully lived.
Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon; her daughter, Carol; and her son, Gary. Irene is survived by her daughters, Jayne (Frank) Fink, Janet (Steve) Renteria, and Sally (Randy) Lyons.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Draper Mortuary, 811 North Mountain Ave, Ontario, CA 91762, on March 13, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
