The book of Ecclesiastes at Chapter 3, Verse 1 states as follows:
“To everything there is a season; and a time… to every purpose under the heaven.”
There is a time to be born, and Jason LaMarr Alford was born on December 4, 1966 in Los Angeles, California to the union of Carey L. Alford and D. DeWayne Brooks.
Jason was raised by his loving mother whom they shared a special relationship. In creating that unique bond, she sowed seeds of love and devotion to her son. “Now abideth faith, hope and love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:13.
Jason was educated in Los Angeles and Pasadena, California. He pursued his higher education at Cal State Northridge. Jason served in the Navy and later began a career at Toyota Corporation that lasted for twenty years. Jason also loved coaching youth football. Some of his players eventually went on to become professional football players.
Jason lived 49 years, 3 months, and 1 week. During those years, he sowed seeds of love and devotion. The ways in which Jason’s very existence on this earth have shaped and ultimately defined the quality of life for so many remain a heavenly mystery. As a result, family, friends, neighbors, and wanderers can conclude that we have simply been blessed that God chose us to have our individual lives touched in such a special way by one of His chosen ones.
Jason’s greatest joy and legacy was being a devoted father to his lovely daughters, Alani and Marley Alford. Jason leaves behind his two daughters, new granddaughter, mother, father, sister, brother, stepsisters, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a multitude of friends whom are Family-in-Heart.
The scriptures state as well that there is a time to die… and Jason departed this world in peace, quietly on Sunday, March 13, in his own home, as he wanted it to be.
