Jose “Angel” Lopez, born on August 27th, 1962, in San Bernardino, CA, was called home to heaven on February 4th, 2024. He leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication to his family. Angel is survived by his two sons, Jose Anthony Lopez and Angel Daniel Lopez, his daughter Angelina Lopez, and his cherished granddaughter Evalina, who he lovingly nicknamed “Gorgeous”. He also leaves behind four younger brothers, Michael Lopez, Fernando Lopez, Antonio Hernandez, and Adrian Leyva Lopez, and one younger sister , Lisa Lopez, who was his caretaker in later years, along with their families.
Raised in Ontario, California, Angel was a hard worker from a young age. He began his career with the city of Ontario tree service and later worked for Pfaff Cameras. Despite facing challenges, including the loss of the use of his legs, Angel remained active and engaged in life. He was a member of the basketball team at Casa Colina Rehabilitation Center and had a passion for baseball, which he shared as a mentor and coach for several teams, including his baby brother Adrian’s team.
Angel was not only dedicated to his work and sports in his lifetime but also to his faith and community. He was an usher and a Bible study leader in his church, where he touched many lives and led numerous individuals to Christ. Angel will be remembered for his kindness, his strength in the face of adversity, and his faith. He now joins his mother, Angela Leyva Lopez, in heaven, but his memory here on Earth as a beloved son, nephew, cousin, father, big brother, uncle, and grandfather will forever be remembered and cherished by his family.
