Hello Mother,  I have been thinking of you so much lately, it's because of the holidays.  Thanksgiving is approaching this week and I been thinking of how you would start days before preparing for that special day, you would say I don't care who comes over and before you knew it most of the family would show up to have your delicious food.  That stuffing alone.  We all remember all those special foods you would make.  Your potato salad, macaroni salad, salsa, that turkey.  You would say make your food with lots of love.  While preparing it and serving it.  Do it with love, that was your secret.  Always with love.  And we learn from you how to make our delicious foods like yours almost like your.  We all miss you very much.  We are trying very hard to stay together and stay in touch.  I think of you everyday and I always will keep you in my heart.  A mother is our heart.

Hello Mother, You would have laughed at my grandson playing basketball.  He is 8 years old and he play's like he is 4.  We laughed so hard.  You would have said come here Joseph I will play with you and show you some good plays.  Remember when you always played with the grandkids at 60-69 it was great watching you in action.  All the kids remember how you played with them,  awesome.  Everyday is a blessing, because in everything we all do is memories of you and Dad.  Things in life are so much connected too you.  I love it .  Sometimes I can feel your presents and you come to me when I need you. I feel so good inside, my heart so lifted.  I know you come and go.  Please continue to come, life seems easier. Mother, I just had to paragraphs typed and it just disappeard.  This has happened to me lately.  Are you sending a message to me.  Hope I don't lose you again.  My thoughts and prayers are for you and always for you.  With prayer I can get through the day.  Now, I think of you in cooking, playing with the grandkids, cleaning the house, etc.  Everything is so connected to you.  Life lives on no matter what.  We laugh so hard when we think of things you would do and say.  But, most of all, I remember the advice and strength you would tell us to have.  So living now keep all of us going. Today is going to be a day of remembrance my dear mom, for you passed away one year ago today October 23, 2014. To us, it seems like yesterday. Time is just passing by, the pain of your passing is still with us but the thoughts and memories of you will always remain in our hearts. Mom's your passing changed us in many ways. It has changed priorities in our life. It put more value on family and friends and less on material things. We see them for what they are "Things". Family are those who know the value. Friends are those who will always be by your side. The holiday are here Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas Mom's your favorite time of the year. So my dear Mom we will be getting together today and enjoying the many memories you left for us. We Love You Today, Tomorrow and Forever.

I have always been able to handle and accept change, I have been doing it for most of my adult life, but on Oct. 23th that is when my world change, I no longer was going to have my mother, I no longer was going to be able to talk to you, talk about change.  My God yes I said it My God.  One year later and I still question why? but the bottom line is not why? how? it  comes down to that one thing, it was Gods plan.  He knew it was time. It is now time for me to say my final goodbye.  As you can see everything is good with us, Monique and Vicente are a blessing from the day they were born. You have taught me the importance of being a loving mother.  I will come and visit you again soon, it was nice the last time. Mom I have loved you during life and I will not abandon you in death. Thinking of you always.  Today is another day of life.  Smelling roses and looking up at the heavens knowing you are there looking over us.  Everyone seems to be doing O.K.  Halloween is around the corner.  How you loved Halloween.  Your decorations out side your front yard.  The neighbors also enjoyed your decorations. Not mentioning the young children. Not having a good morning mom. Missing you so much so I decided to look at your pretty face. So you made me smile.

dear grannie today is the first birthday that I will have without hearing you wish me happy birthday and that you love me I am 39. dame  I am getting old. I thought that I would be fine but honestly I cry and hurt every time I think about you today. I really didn't cry when you passed because I remembered how strong I would have to be for everyone so I was. I know it was your time to go and I know we all make you proud individually my only wish I have today is that we would eventually make you proud as a family together like you wanted even is its only for certain days a year. just to enjoy and remember the life you taught us....to enjoy live and love because before you know it some of us will be gone and only our legacy will remain...love you birdie always and forever and I know you still sitting up there with your feet kicked up smiling and watching what your legacies are doing.

So much good in my life.  I think even when I had to go though my illness I always felt I had the Lord by my side, and I know that you have the Lord my your side as well. I will always remember how we would remind each other to have faith in God and to be strong.  For as long as I can remember you did not enter into the church, which was ok because your faith was as strong as those who attended, because we are dealt with so much in life it is good to have the power of Gods love. So much to tell you mom, you will be so happy to know that I'm finally having my port device removed on Oct. 5th, and all my doctors visit are well, plus Ava is coming to visit me in Tucson, so excited. We will be able to talk about everything laugh and even cook some of the meals you taught us, Ava knows more of what you taught us about cooking than I do, we are going to have so much fun just as sisters should and I promise mom not to be sad, I do miss you but I know that you are in a comfort zone being cared for. hello mother, I cooked dinner this evening and started thinking of how you would tell me and all the girls when we cooked to make sure we did it with all the love we had.  My dinner was delicious.  Thank you Mother.  It's things like that that holds us together and have precious memories of you.  Today was grandparents babysitting day, we have Tuesdays and once in a while Mondays. It's so rewarding and fun, also it keep us young.  You would been proud of us, especially George. Well Mother, I'll speak to you again soon. God has given us such wonderful blessing, kids are good, I'm good, Life is good. You were so right when you said," God will take care of me, I think my faith as even became stronger. Today is the 23th God took you into his arms and released you of all your pain.  It was not the easy for us to have you leave but as I sit here today thinking God alone has the power to create life and take it away.  It was time for you to enter the gates of heaven. I do miss you but I can truly say I sit here with a smile on my face and my thoughts seeing you in a place that is so  and full of joy and beauty. This is a place I some day will like to enter, but for now there is so much to see and do here on earth.  I hope Gods plan is for me to live as long as I can.  One of the last things you said to me was that you never have to worry about me, I scared you for a while there but how proud you were of me to bounce back and how you noticed how much faith I have in God, yes mom I'm very happy. Good evening Mother, how we all miss you very very much, but we all know we are going to be with you soon.  We all are doing things you taught us.  Loving our children and making your favorite foods. I can't believe how time has pass by so quickly.  I was thinking how much has change with you gone, you would be like really what! and I would be like yep crazy. Anyways I miss the long late night conversations, sometimes I have trouble sleeping cause we would like to stay on the phone for hours, you would say those-----Spanish words,  I knew what you meant I always like hearing you speak Spanish, it reminded me of where we came from the  struggles and how to become strong and determined in life. I think I have that from you and dad I see that a lot in Monique and Vicente. I have so much to tell you things are so great for us.  Monique is really doing great working on her Masters and PHD and Vicente is flying helicopters  in Japan he is flying the important big shots, we are all going to visit him next year.  Tony and I will be moving to Texas once again.  He is going to control airplanes and we are going to buy a new custom build home.  I will retire and enjoy life, you always wanted me to take care of myself and I will.  Doctors visits are going well, getting wonderful results and on Oct. 5th I'm schedule to have my port device removed.  That was the one thing we did not like you and I, but it was something we needed to do. The sad thing is I will be moving farther away from your grave site, but we will never be farther away in our hearts. I will always have you and those dear to me forever. I need to get ready for my wonderful easy job we will talk again soon.  The bright light is on for you once again.  Love

good evening, mother, I have had you on my mind daily since your passing. You are and have been so remembered this past year.  Even, before your passing, you were one to remember.  During this past year, there has not be a day gone by, we laugh, cry, and eat something you ate, laughed or cried about.  Little Lucia sees your picture and points too Grandma Josie. She smiles and looks at you with so much love.  It is wonderful seeing her eyes all that love.  The love you pasted on.  Believe me, when I say the love you see within her eyes are yours. The twenty-third is a day I will always remember, this is the day that God wanted you to walk with him.  I miss you and wonder where did the time go. In my mind I  can clearly picture  us in the garage or seeing the movie Lonesome Dove over and over again.   Today is a cloudy day and I worked all day, but now I'm home looking out the window thinking someday we will see each other.  We will not even have to speak our eyes will say it all. As I'm sitting here typing with the window shade open I see and hear a mother bird and her baby, these birds keep hanging around, that is what life is all about what a beautiful sight. I kind of sense you have something to do with this, cause they will not stop chirping, I like it.  Anyway mom just wanted to talk and say I love you on this day and that I'm thinking of you always.

We miss you so much. I'm remembering the things we did I remember the camping trips. The one I remember the most was the time you and Benny, me, Don and the kids went to Lake Mohave, Sammy was only 9 months and Jacob was almost 3 we were hit by rain storm so hard that we had to go to a hotel but then the next day was beautiful and we were able to fish. We laugh so hard when Jacob would tell you mammy mamamy kiss your fish and when you were trying to teach Sammy patty cake Benny would says "she is so beautiful in Spanish" now you know I don't know how to write in Spanish so I looked this up "Ella es tan hermosa" and you would say she takes after me. They love you much and have so many memories. Just this weekend we went to the river and we were hit by a rain storm and Jacob said "I remember the time that Greg, Tina, Josh, Davey, Reyna, Benny and all of us went to Jesse Ranch and the wind was blowing and it started raining Benny hat blow into the lake and we were all trying to hook it with are fishing poles. We were blessed to have you as a mom and a grandma from the time that the kids were born to the time God took you to heaven gates. Hugs mom hope your doing some fishing. We all love you.

Hi Mom,
Things are going fine, Monique and Vicente are off living their lives and achieving their goals they set out for themselves.  I feel I have accomplished what I needed to do in raising them both.  They know and will always remember their roots and will always be proud of their heritage.  It was nice while we did not live with you or that you never had to help me raise them, they will always remain  proud of being your grandchildren and I your daughter.  They like to learn about different cultures and they are so funny cause they both like eating different cultural foods. They even have me join them at restaurants when they visit.  I have been in Texas  where Monique is living now attending grad school but  we can't wait to visit Vincent in Japan. Thank you for telling both of them and me how proud you felt about us. This is something we will forever cherish and carry the rest of our lives.  I will talk to you soon again I wanted to say love you and to light another candle.

Keeping you up dated on how things are, I'm pretty sure you can see what's going on here, wish I can say the same but someday I will join you.  I feel Gods plan is to keep me here a while which is ok cause life is really good, kids are doing great and are fine, Tony and I are supporting each other as we get older, actually aging in a possible way and keeping healthy is pretty cool.  I'm still tell this day taking your advice and remembering all you had to say to me those last days I had with you.  Anyway just wanted to say hi and that I love you.

Sending another bright light in your direction.  Things are so wonderful in my life I couldn't have ask for anything better. You had to go through so most pain and hurt yet when we were together and saying the rosary you said you were so glad someone did that for you." I even remember when I had to leave and go back for treatments you asked if I would call you and say some prayers with you.  At times I was not able to reach you on the phone but we talked about saying them distances apart. Faith is teaching me to forgive remembering the good is easy it's the bad  that's the difficult part. It feels good having so much faith in God,  being aware that he is with me and the family and knowing that he was and is by your side. Although you are gone and Monique and Vicente off with their new life adventures I feel at peace, I do miss you and miss the crazy times we shared but mom everything is good. I will say the Our Father and the Hail Mary prayers for you and since you are so much closer to heaven can you add a little something for us.  Until we talk again remembering how much we love you mom.

My Dear Mom, as you can see I'm having a bad week. From the moment that you went to heaven my heart was torn in two, one side filled with heartache and the other side went with you. I know you told me to be strong and I know you loved me for all the things I did but I did them because I love you so much (Hugs and Kisses to you Mom). I so often lie awake at night and think of all the memories we have had together and then I fill these tears running down my cheeks. Remembering you is easy I do it everyday, but mom missing you is a heartache that doesn't goes away. I know someday we will be together again but until the day arrives I will hold you tightly within my heart. I have this picture of us on my desk.

Good Morning Mom,
I have been up since 5:30a.m. I'm like you I love the mornings.  I like to step outside and look at the plants see the birds, and what ever God has to show us, you would tell me the same thing, we are morning people. So I'm sitting out in the backyard thinking I bet you have a much better view than I have, some day we can see it together.  It's been seven months now and I miss you as if it were yesterday, just like the hummingbird wings that flutter so quickly so does time passed by so quickly.  My life has been going well, Vicente is home for the last time, he is headed off to Japan to fly helicopters and when he comes back in two years he will be a captain. Monique is leaving in two weeks to Austin Texas to get her Masters and PHD.  You were always so sweet to them both and said you never ever had to worry about them because I was such a good mom that you were proud of me and of them, I will always remember those kind words. I know you were little worried about Monique when she was in Madagascar, but when she got back home and she told you about everything and her career was to help people like her uncle Richey you were so proud. I'm going to have to say good by to Vicente in a few hours and it will be difficult. I wish I could have been there with you your last minutes but I have to receive my second time around with radiation treatments, timing sucks, I so thank full that you had family with you.  I was with you in prayer and knew that God was by you side, that is how I deal with Monique and Vicente leaving  It gives me so much comfort knowing that God will guide and keep them safe. I shall keep you update with more news soon.  Love you always

Good Morning Mom,
It's a cool and beautiful day, went for a morning walk to enjoy the beauty of the Tucson desert. On my walk I was thinking about the many times you came to visit me while I was given my treatments, I was to weak to walk let alone stand at times.  You keep reminding me not to give up to have faith in God, and that one day I will be able to take my long walks.  I was also thinking about the last time I saw you and you asked me "Delia tell me the truth will I ever walk."  I said no mom not here on earth but you will walk with God in heaven and he will guide you in his path, you express such emotion with that beautiful smile and said, "yes." I had my doctor appointment on Thursday and everything went well for now, my sugar count was a little high, so no more donuts, candy and sweet breads, besides it not good for me.  I can still recall your words to me, take care of yourself and your motherly advice you gave me. What wrong with you do you want to end up with having to get dialysis treatments, it's not fun.  I really do miss the talks about life, the way we were able to laugh about things, just listening and sharing our hearts together, so mom even with you up in heaven I can still listen to your words of wisdom.  I'm off to get ready for church and will ask God to give us the strength and to always enjoy the beauty of our surrounding. Once again talk soon, love you

Hey mom I went by the Dialysis Center on Thursday it was so nice to see everyone it was heart warming. Took them some donuts like we used to do. Manuel said he always looked forward to our donuts. Jack said he thinks of us every Tuesday and how we would go get tacos. Alvin thought it was cute how you called him your chipmunk. Kathy misses your jokes and "as she said you being sassy to her". Wanda misses seeing us go through the Del Taco drive-up. Other people had so many nice things to say about you. As I was leaving Dr.Handako was going in he asked how I was doing I told him how much I miss you... He said oh my she was a character that little one then he said "I don't miss her telling me to shut up" we laugh about it. I'm glad you told me to keep in touch with them it was nice to see them all it felt like you were with me.

Lighting another candle for you and all the family that are with you.  That was one of the special things we have our candles and angles.  I wish I could have gotten the candles and angles I gave you, but then like you always said it's just material things it not what really counts and I will always keep that in mind.  For Mother's Day I lite a candle for you at mass in your honor. I went to the store to buy fruit. I loved buying us fruit when I would visit.  The strawberries and grapes are out and in season.  It was always nice buying strawberries, grapes and cherries at the farm near the house and the fun we would have eating them until we both were so full.  I wanted to let you know  I'm going to come to visit you pretty soon to place some beautiful flowers at you site and I'm going to buy some strawberries and have a nice picnic just you and me talking about things.  I do miss you so much and at the same time very happy,  We are so proud of Monique and Vicente,  I know you can see the wonderful life they are making for themselves and how I'm taking care of myself.  That was one of the things you wanted me to do, I'm still listening to those words. Well mom you know me, I have been here for you since the very beginning and will be back soon to say another hello.  Love you forever. Dear Lord please pick a bunch of roses for me and place them in my mother's arms tell her they are from me. It has been two months now and I miss you more than ever, I think of you all the time. I wanted to tell you things are good at home, as you can see Vicente is home on leave and Monique is doing really good, we actually are all fine. I was remembering the night we were driving to your rosary, Tony and I saw a big star falling from the night sky, and since then as I look up I have been able to see many falling stars.  At first I could not believe what I was seeing, it had me wondering and then I realize that it had to be some kind of sigh from you.  I somehow sense you have something to do with this.  I know that you are in a much happier place, free on pain and that some day we will see each other again, it is just that for now it is so difficult for me not to hear your voice.  When I'm feeling down I will give my burdens to God, and with each new day I will try to find peace in my heart and will always treasure you.  Expressing some of my deepest thoughts to you, love always

They tell me it's a good thing to talk to you.
Well most likely I would be talking to you on the phone, most of our conversations were late at night when you were alone. I have so much to tell you, I received my results from my mammogram today and my results show no suspicion of breast cancer,  now the doctor just want me to have the biopsy on the 24th, I'm feeling pretty sure that those results are going to show no evidence of malignancy.  You gave me the strength I needed and you were right. I think of you so much. Sometimes I wish I should have been there for you than for my own health, but then you told me I had to make sure I finish all my treatments and to take care of myself.  I will always be thankful to you.  Love you forever.

Hello Mom, I miss you so much.  All the talks throughout the years, talks about everything and anything under the sun.  We would laugh so hard we would you know what in our pants. It's been raining for a couple o0f days.  This storm is a record breaking.  It is fine because we need to get out of this drought. So we gladly welcome this storm with open arms.  I think about you everyday, morning, afternoon, evening, down too minutes. I have been keeping in touch with all the family, like I promised you.  We all miss and are living through you in everyday situation of life.  God guides us and you are always there too guide, protect and love.  I know you are with all of us every minute of every day. Just wanted to say hi.  I remember when I would call you and how you would tell me you were alone at nights, just you and Greg.  We would talk for hours and hours on the phone, and then laugh because we couldn't believe how long we had talk.  I miss that and I known that some day we will have so much to say.   I wanted to let you know you were right when you told me I was lucky. I did it I hit the big one, you would be so surprise and we would be like oh my goodness.  I feel that somehow you were at my side at that time, but then again mom I have been lucky in life having you. Love you mom

An ANGEL has been called back.  Mom, I know the tears we all have shed will help all of us became stronger.  Just like you always said. We will always everyday say, do something or think of you. A special candle
When I visited you, you were always telling me Delia light the candles you give me.  Sometimes Mom I may not need the candle on anymore because you are my the bright light in my life.

Hi Mom,
It has been one month today since you passed on to a much better place. I remember where and what I was doing at that time. Ava called me and said you passed away.  I remember what you had said to me the last time I saw you, and the first thing that came into my mind was thank you God.  I have been going through so much pain with out you, but it is nothing compare to your pain.  I know that you are at peace and in heaven and that some day we will be together again.  I also remember a lot of what you wanted me to know, I will keep those promises with me forever.  Love and Miss You.

Dear Mom,
I went to the 99 cent store today with Monique and I was telling her how in the summer you had me drive you to the store, and that we were walking around for about an hour and a halif.  I was trying to let you know it was to much walking, but you were so strong and told me to grow another pair of legs to walk with, and how we looked at each other and just started laughing.  I now understand even if things change in life we need to remember to continue on. Love and miss you.

Josie! you were truly blessed with your caring family.  I will always miss your advice and caring toward others without question. You are now soaring with the angels...   So God Bless You Josie.

Dear Mom,
Does the pain get any better?  I'm trying to take care of myself physically, mentally, and spiritually.

Good Morning Mom, 
I was given the day off from work today, and I wanted to call you and talk for hours like we use to do, but I realize that I can't, all I want to do is cry and mom I have such pain in my heart.  I remember visiting you this summer and how much fun we had, even then you would tell me to be strong for what was coming ahead. I did not even what to think of letting you go, but I know it was what you were waiting and wanting to happen.  I remember when I had to leave you and you said, "Delia I'm going to miss you and thanked me for being such a good daughter." Mom I still sense that we have that special bond, so lets continue to talk in our dreams and though out the day. Love you always

Dear Aunt Donna and Judy,
Thank you for the kind words,  May the dawning of each new day bring healing to help ease your illness, and give you peace as you face together each tomorrow.  Love you always

I was thinking what would mom say to me about these last two days, and she would say, "Delia I had such a nice rosary, a beautiful church service,  family and neighbors and friend were at my grave site to say good by to me. and now I join God, all the Angles and Saints, and those who have gone before me in Heaven."  I would reply "Yes mom that is because everyone loved you and because you have been truly blessed. Then she would say "Delia don't forget your manners, tell everyone I said thank you. I once again reply "I will mom." Everyone thank you on behalf of Josephine.

May those who loved you, remember you for all the love you gave to them. Rest in peace. Know that you were loved by many.

Watching this candle reminds me of all the times we cried together, all the times we sang happy birthday, prayed for others, all the holidays we shared and your everlasting glow that glowed during life and now will continue to light the way for all in your heart as you are accepted home into the kingdom of god worry free pain free and watching over all love you grandma

Prayer for my Mother
Lord our God, you are our refuge from generation to generation.  Year and days vary, but you remain the same.  Your mercy remains with us in life and in death.  Grant us to remember and to give thanks for what you gave us through Josephine Gonzales.  Receive her into your kingdom after her long working day, through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Nothing we can say will ease your pain through this heartbreaking time. Life is so fragile; your loss is so deep, your heart is broken; hold on to all of your memories together.  And may you be comforted in the belief of Josie's everlasting love, for all of you.  May her love lift you and hold you close, and give you everlasting peace.  Your mom was such an amazing lady, and I feel privileged to have had such a fun loving and beautiful sister. She will be missed deeply by all who knew her, we will keep all of you in our thoughts and prayers.  I'm so sorry that my health will not allow me to attend the services, please know we love all of you and will keep you in our hearts.
