Josephine Genovese Kopasz

Josephine Genovese Kopasz, 96, of Alta Loma, California, died peacefully January 18, 2016 at Upland, California with her family by her side. She was born September 21, 1919 in Fairmont, West Virginia, and had been a resident of Alta Loma for 47 years. She worked at Westinghouse before her marriage to Ernie Kopasz in 1949. The family moved to the Chicago area before their final move to California in 1966. She worked at May Company at Montclair Plaza for many years. She was a member of the 50 Plus Club at St. Peter and Paul in Alta Loma and was its president for many years up to her death.

Josephine's family was the most important thing to her and would enjoy nothing more than spending time with them. She is survived by her children Conda Takanabe and Ernest Kopasz, Jr., son-in-law Bill Takanabe, daughter-in-law Vicki Kopasz and grandchildren Bill, Brandon and Briana Takanabe and Jeffrey and Russell Kopasz. She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Kopasz and sisters Beatrice Falbo, Rose Gardi and Julia Ross.

A funeral mass will be held Wednesday, January 27 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 2110 North San Antonio Avenue, Upland, California, and burial at 2:00 p.m. at Riverside National Cemetery. The family requests donations be made to your favorite charity.
