Josephine Chavez Perez

Surrounded by her devoted family, Josephine "Josie" Perez passed away peacefully in Fontana, California on Sunday, October 20, 2013 at the age of 71. Josie was born on January 15, 1942 in Alta Loma, California. She was preceded in death by her parents, Simon and Adella Chavez and her brother, Simon Chavez, Jr.

Josie grew up in Alta Loma and attended Upland High School where she graduated in 1960. Shortly thereafter, she married John D. Perez. They lived in Rancho Cucamonga where they raised their children, Johnny, Jr., Joanne, Joey, James and Jesse, where they became known as "The J.P. Family".

She is survived by her twin sister, Julia Chavez, her loving husband, John D. Perez, Sr., her daughter Joanne and her sons, Johnny, Jr. (Rose), Joey, James (Fatima) and Jesse (Elizabeth) as well as her loving grandchildren, Melissa, Josephine (Marcella), Danny, Mauricia, Racine, Joey, Michael, Robert, Mikey, Nikki, Sarah, Nathan, Brandon, Josh, Vanessa, Renee and Noah. Her legacy is furthered by seven (7) great-grandchildren.

She is greatly loved and will be missed so very much.

Viewing will be held at Draper Mortuary in Ontario, California on Monday, October 28, 2013 from 5:00-8:00 PM with a Rosary to begin at 6:30 PM. Funeral Service will be held at Draper Mortuary on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at 10:00 AM to be followed with burial at Bellevue Memorial Park in Ontario, California
